Default Anabolic/Anti-Catabolic Formula - Too much sugar?

I bought a 5 lb. just of the Anabolic/Anti-Catabolic formula cause it was on sale. 2 Scoops (70g) contains 28 g of sugar. Seems like this is more of a PWO protein and shouldnt be used late in evening since i'm cutting. It does say the carbs are low glycemic cause it comes from "fructose" but in my opinion this is a less than superior protein since it only has 25 grams. What do you guys think about "fructose"? The protein tastes amazing i will say and mixes great.

Depending on how strict the diet is, that isn't a horrible amount of sugar. I don't eat sugar at this time, but depending on how often you exercise that may not put on any pounds.

A can of coke has about 40 grams I think.

Fructose is a medium speed digestion fruit sugar, this source being corn. You may want to stick to a very boring slow digest protein with minimal carbs around 7pm, and then go to sleep at a reasonable time.

but in my opinion this is a less than superior protein since it only has 25 grams
Remember, this blend is more of a MRP than a protein powder, the oat muscle and fructose, as well as a few other ingredients offset the grams of protein per scoop. There are cheaper protein types in this blend, and more expensive higher quality powders added.

Super bovine serum, WPC, and casein etc.

I do not believe this blend will add fat. It is a great value. You may customize your own blend, but it will not be as economical.

    You could use:

    20-30% oatmuscle
10% creapure (depending on allowable weight)
    50-60% heliogen Casein
    10% omega muscle

I'm also on a low carbohydrate diet, especially for simple sugars, but as Cowin said, that amount of fructose isn't horrid, and it really depends your exercise regimen and the composition of the rest of your daily diet.

How about a "semi-custom" approach: use the A/AC formula as a base and enrich it with a medium-long digesting protein, thereby increasing the per serving amount of protein while decreasing the per serving carbs a bit. That would be relatively economical, since you would only have to add one protein powder to what you already purchased at a decent price.

It isn't perfect, nor does it contain super bovine serum etc but I use a variation of the formula I posted, and I add a scoop of 520 Post Workout. I have been using a scoop of powered flavoring which adds about 10 grams of simple sugars.

My lean mass is excellent, and I think my BF% is very low compared to the norm.

I ended up mixing it 50/50 with some Whey Isolate and will use it for Post workout only.
