Default New to the Factory and could use some help

    Hello,

I recently lost a lot of weight and I am still trying to lose some but I am begining to focus on adding muscle and increasing my strength training. I started to look at supplements online and at stores which sucked. A friend of mine suggested I come here to learn more about supplements and to get better quality stuff. The idea of making my own formula has really intrigued me given me more focus on my goals and motivation. That having been said I have some ideas but I could use some help. I apologize for my ignorance and I have spent a lot of time looking through these threads but I am now more confused than ever.

If anyone can help I am looking for a good shake to take post workout, one to take before bed or in the evening as well as a preworkout energy mix.

i'm 6'3 and weigh 245. I would like to get down to around 225 or 230 but not lose any muscle. Not sure what my bodyfat percentage is but I can stand to loose some more fat.

Also I don't really care about taste or mixability. I'll force it down if it will work. Thanks for any advice

    Hey there pj jr!
I can understand your confusion. I have been reading about the various proteins on here and around the web for about 6 months and still have a hard time keeping everything straight. You will find that there are a lot of varying opinions about what is "the best." In truth, there isn't one standard "best" mix for everyone. The best thing is to email Alex (the president of ProteinFactory) and ask him. He can set you up with a recommended combination that you can give a try for a while, and alter one way or another, or keep exactly the same if it is or isn't working well for you. Some basic things though-
Pre-workout: It is popular to have a protein/carb mix for energy and food for the muscles while you work out.
Post-workout: Same thing-although it would be a different type of carb with protein to promote muscle repair.
Nighttime: You want a slow digesting protein like Casein-this way your body has a food source to feed on while you are asleep. Otherwise, it might become catabolic and try to break down muscle for energy.
I hope this helps you get started. Again, contact Alex for specific information.
