New study here shows all the new forms of creatine have the same or more stability in digestion (digests worse) proving they are not used better by the body but just marketed to receive a high margin for the creators.

STACK SUGGESTION

Studies show that PeptoPro RADICALLY increases the effectivness of Creatine. It's a great idea to take 10 grams with your Creatine in Gatorade.

The main concern with the purchase of creatine monohydrate is purity.

Creatine occurs naturally in the human body and is a key factor in energy production (ATP). Creatine is synthesized from three amino acids: Arginine, Glycine and Methionine, which are primarily in the liver and kidneys. For the average-sized adult person, there is approximately 120 g stored in the body; the daily turnover rate is 1.6% of the total storage (2-3 g per day). The body can synthesize half of the amount; the other half must be taken in through diet and supplementation.

Directions: Take 1 tsp per day. Creatine should always be taken with caffeine-free drinks, such as water, fruit juice, or warm (improves solubility) tea. Make sure that you take sufficient fluid with the creatine (rule of thumb: 1 g creatine/100 ml fluid). The creatine drink should always be prepared fresh and consumed that same day, as creatine does not remain stable in fluids for long periods.

Creatine can be found in dairy products as well as raw meat and fish. However, once the meat or fish is cooked, the Creatine levels decrease. For strict vegetarians and vegans this is an essential supplement since their diets provide them with very little Creatine intakes. In the chart below, you will be able to see the Creatine amount in various foods.

Bodybuilding and Athletic Description
Lower doses of Creatine (1-10 g) have a maximum concentration time of less than two hours compared to higher doses (above 10 g). The higher the dose, the more time it will take to reach the maximum level which you desire, generally over 3 hours.

When Creatine is used on a short-term basis (aka loading) at 15-25 g for a 5 day time period, the muscle Creatine content is increased by 15-30%. After this loading period, a dose of 2-5 g daily will keep the Creatine levels elevated. Rather than the 5 day period of loading, one can also achieve the same with a 3 g serving per day for a 28 day period. There is however a limit of the amount of Creatine one can have in the body (approximately 160 mmol per kg of dry muscle mass). Consuming high amounts of Creatine after loading (15 g and more), will not increase the Creatine content and is not necessary.

Safety:

  • Creapure has developed and patented a "cyanamide" way of producing Creatine in their lab. This guarantees the highest quality, highest purity as well as safety. There are health risks with potential impurities:
  • Dihydrotizatines- not detectable in Creapure. Dihydrotizantines are unknown the human body and should never be in dietary supplements
  • Dicyandiamide- typically less than 13 parts per million (ppm), not a health risk from Creapure. May cause transitory mechanical eye irritation.
  • Creatinine- typically less than 67 ppm, not a health risk from Creapure. Creatinine ingestion should be as little as possible to avoid kidney problems.
  • Thiourea- can not be present in Creapure. Harmful if swallowed and possible risk to an unborn child. Produces problems with thyroids in animals and tumors in eyes, ears, nose and liver.
