Trump’s Tariffs to JACK UP Whey Protein Prices? Expert Paul Knox SPILLS ALL In EXCLUSIVE Chat!

Speaker Alex Rogers, President of Protein Factory: Hey, what’s up, guys? Alex Rogers, president of ProteinFactory.com. We’re talking about the prices of whey protein today, uh, and are they gonna keep going up? Right now, we have pretty much historic highs of whey protein isolate. I’m not talking about whey protein concentrate. Remember, this is whey protein isolate. Whey concentrate is high, but it seems to have leveled off. Whey protein isolate, on the other hand, is going crazy. So, how are these tariffs gonna affect the price of whey protein because United States does not produce all of the world’s whey protein. New Zealand, Europe, China. And so yesterday, I talked to Paul Knox. Paul Knox is my friend. Known him for decades, and he knows a lot about the prices of whey protein and what’s happening. And I was gonna do a podcast with him, but he didn’t have much to say because there really just isn’t too much news. So, he doesn’t think that… Essentially, he doesn’t think the tariffs are gonna affect the price of whey protein. Why? Because initially, he came right out of the gate and said, you know, five pounds of whey protein, average price right now is $110 for five pounds. Back in the day, I remember selling it for 35. I swear to God, I’m not even kidding. 35 bucks a pound. $35 for five pounds. Now, it’s $110 average price. Um, on my website, I’m selling it for, you know, I don’t know, anywhere between 75 and 95 to 100 bucks, you know, depending on which one you have because I carry so many. But essentially, he came to… He he told me that he doesn’t think the price is gonna go up anymore ’cause consumers are refusing to pay for it. Not only that, but a lot of these protein companies that are out there, they’re just marketing companies. They don’t care about the quality, and they don’t care about the customer. They just care about the almighty dollar and turning conversions, and these Amazon companies, it’s, it’s nuts. So, they’re, they, they… If their margins aren’t there, they can’t operate because they have a marketing budget. In order to sell their protein powder on Amazon, they need certain margins. And if those margins aren’t there, they can’t sell it. They’re not making money, so… Because they’re not real protein companies, they’re marketing companies. So, they’re seeing pushback from that. These guys aren’t buying it anymore. They’re just out. So, once that happens, once people stop buying it, then the price is gonna come back down. And he’s thinking… He told me it’s gonna come down, um, I’d say, what percentage? About another 15… Probably about, uh, 10 to 15% within the next couple of months, he thinks these prices, whey protein isolates gonna come down. Will that affect the retail prices? I, I don’t think so. It’s just not enough. My, I, I… Depends on what I can get it for. I mean, if I’m seeing it 10% or 15% lower in price, then I can pass those savings onto you, okay? So, bottom line. Tariffs… Now, remember, this is all speculation, okay? Um, I was right the last time. I made a post about a year ago telling everybody to stock up on whey protein ’cause the price is gonna gone up. Nobody believed me, and the price went up. So, here I’m telling you that I, I’m, I’m in agreement with Paul that the… We’re gonna see some consumer pushback where people just stop buying it, marketing companies are stop buying it, so that’s gonna bring the price down. So, what’s gonna bring the price down even more after that, uh, I’m not sure. Uh, w- we didn’t really talk to him about that, but… I didn’t talk to Paul about that, but, um, but it, it might come down if, if the inventories build up. The tariffs, uh, I don’t think they’re gonna affect the price of whey too much, so, um, as far as right now, everybody could pretty much… You know, if you wanna use whey protein, you can. If, if you’re not using it because you think the price is gonna come down, uh, it’s not gonna come down anytime soon, so, um, yeah. But I have a really interesting TikTok after this one, so definitely watch my next TikTok or the TikToks in the future. There’s a new protein powder that was just invented. Really cool, and, uh, we’re gonna talk about it here.

@proteinfactory.com Whey Protein Prices: Will Tariffs Affect Them? In this video, I discuss the current high prices of whey protein isolate and whether the tariffs will affect the price. I talk to my friend Paul Knox, who is an expert on whey protein prices, and he believes the price will come down in the next few months due to consumer pushback against the high prices. He thinks the tariffs won't have a major impact. I also mention that I was right about the price going up a year ago, and I'll be talking about a new and interesting protein powder in an upcoming TikTok video. #WheyProtein #ProteinPrices #TariffsImpact #ProteinCompanies #ConsumerPushback #proteinpowder ♬ original sound – Protein Factory
