Can Egg Yolk Powder Be The Best Weight Gain Powder?

Egg are without question, one of the healthiest foods you can consume.  I think enough studies have come out to de bunk the myth the eggs can raise cholesterol and you should only consume a certain amount of them every day.  Quite the contrary, eggs, including the egg yolk are very good for you and your health.  In addition they can be a great weapon for people looking to gain weight or buy a mass gaining supplement.  Egg white protein powder is one of the best protein powders you can use for mass gaining.

The problem is that liquid eggs are disgusting to a lot of people.  Only the truly hardcore can crack open a raw egg, put it in a glass and drink it, “Rocky Style”.  The alternative is to cook the whole egg and eat it.  The problem with that is a lot of people, including myself do not like to cook.  And when I do cook I suck at it.  My food tastes like dog poop, I make a giant mess, the eggs stick to the pan and it take me 3 hours to get it off.  The whole cooking operation is a complete mess.

The solution to the “egg problem” is to buy weight gainers.  Weight gainers are supplement powders that include a massive amount of powders.  These powders that contain huge amount of calories but low quality ingredients are marketed as a way to help you put on muscle mass and weight.  However they have a big problem.  Most of them do not contain any fat.  Fat is the key to weight gain.  Fat yields 9 calories per gram versus protein and carbs that yield 4 calories per gram.  So why don’t you see more weight gain powder with fat in them.  Because typically when you add fat to a weight gain powder it will go rancid and expire rather quickly.  Not only that but there are not that many choices of fat to add to these weight gain powders.   Unless you are a supplement manufacturing expert like myself, you will be stuck with a weight gain supplement that is not very good.  Well hope is not lost as I can give you a great recommendation to use a weight gain powder that is better than anything you can buy on

Egg Yolk Powder!

Yes this is an actual product and I used to sell egg yolk powder about 10 years ago.  You see, I’m an ectomorph and I have always had a hard time gaining weight.  Therefore I always looking for powders that I could add to my custom protein formulas to add calories to them.  Remember the key was to find a powder that had a high fat content, but at the same time had a lower carbohydrate content.  The answer is egg yolk powder.  Egg yolk powder is the perfect weight gaining powder.  It can be used simply by itself.  Egg yolk powder is about 50% fat.  As you can see in the picture below from the American Egg Board

Since egg yolk powder is 50% fat it will yield approximately 650 calories per 100 grams.  If you compared that to a weight gainer powder that is only protein and carbs it would yield 400 calories.  Obviously I do not recommend consuming 100 grams of powder at a time like a lot of the serving sizes of these common low-quality weight gain supplements being sold today, but instead you can reduce the serving size to about 50 or 60 grams and still get around 400 calories.  Half the powder but almost the same calories!  WHAT A DEAL!

You can mix this powder with any of my weight gain supplements.   Because straight up drinking this stuff is going to be rought on the taste buds.  Instead use this recipe for the best results

1/4 cup of whey isolate

1/4 cup of egg yolk powder

1/4 cup of Oatmuscle

Add about 16 to 20 oz of Oatmilk or Almond Milk, bananas, and blueberries and you are good to go.  Oh yea and don’t forget to lift.
